The protection of your privacy is our top priority.

In this privacy policy, you will learn how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data. We are committed to ensuring that your information is always treated confidentially and complies with applicable data protection regulations.

We regularly update our privacy policy to ensure that it aligns with the latest legal requirements and our own data protection practices. Therefore, please check this page regularly for updates.

The Boom privacy policy applies to all your interactions with Boom Software through any of the following websites:

1. Overview of the data we process

Nevertheless, if you choose to provide personal information on our website, we, as the data controller, will handle it in accordance with applicable regulations (such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation and the Telecommunications Act).

Our privacy policy will outline the personal data we gather from this website, the purposes for which we collect it, the legal basis for processing, and the duration of storage and processing. Furthermore, we will detail your rights concerning this data.

1.1. Information on the processing of personal data when visiting our website

Visitors can utilize our website, www.boomsoftware.com, without the necessity of disclosing their names, addresses, or similar information. Boom Software only gathers such data when it is essential for delivering services or handling inquiries, such as during registration, document downloads, newsletter subscriptions, or event registrations.

In cases where you use our website only for informational purposes without providing additional information, we solely gather the technically required data to display our website, ensuring its stability and security (with the legal basis being Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR). This data encompasses:

  • IP address of the accessing device
  • Date and time of access
  • URL of the accessed page
  • Status message indicating the success of the access
  • Amount of data transmitted
  • Referrer URL indicating the source of the user’s access

  • Information stored in cookies established by us
  • Log files we created to document events during your visit (e.g., your agreement to the terms of use).

This website does not conduct profiling or automated decision-making processes.

1.1.1. Storage period

As a general rule, we retain your data for a period of three months. Extended retention only occurs when necessary to investigate identified attacks on our website. Furthermore, we keep your data only for as long as required to meet relevant statutes of limitations, legal retention periods, or potential legal disputes where the data could serve as evidence.

1.1.2. Transmission of your personal data

If necessary for the purposes mentioned above, we will transmit your personal data to the following recipients:

  • Boom Software GmbH
  • External IT service providers, including Google Analytics and LeadForensics

1.1.3. Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device with the help of your browser. They do not cause any harm. We use cookies to make our offering more user-friendly. Some cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them. They enable us to recognize your browser on your next visit.

If you do not grant your consent, we will only collect anonymous data about your visit to our website. However, please note that disabling cookies may limit the functionality of our website.

For more on the cookies used on our website, please see our Cookie Policy.

1.1.3.1. Cloudflare

Cloudflare offers security and reliability services to prevent online abuse and ensure the security of our website, particularly by fending off attacks. Moreover, using Cloudflare often contributes to increasing the speed of our website, ensuring a smooth web experience for all users. Under specific circumstances, especially during harmful attacks on our website, the provider may transfer the IP addresses of browsers outside the European Economic Area or the European Union to activate an “abuse reporting system / blocking system”. However, no other personal data is explicitly stored.

1.1.3.2. Google Tag Manager

We use the Google Tag Manager on our website. The Google Tag Manager is an application that allows us to activate small pieces of code (tags) on our website based on custom rules. These tags can, for example, be used for visitor behavior measurement (such as Google Analytics).

The Google Tag Manager itself does not set cookies or collect personal data. However, it can activate tags that collect such data.

Our cookie consent tool on the website is based on the use of the Google Tag Manager. It interprets the settings made by the visitor and activates or deactivates tags on the website accordingly.

1.1.3.3. Google Analytics

Our website utilizes features of the web analytics service Google Analytics, provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies to assist us in analyzing your use of this website.

The information generated by such a cookie regarding your use of this website (including your IP address, the URLs of visited webpages, and webpage attributes) is transmitted to and stored on Google servers in the United States. The collected data is used to optimize our website and advertising efforts.

Our website uses the option provided by Google Analytics for IP anonymization. Therefore, your IP address is shortened/anonymized by Google as soon as it is collected. On our behalf, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, generate reports on website activities, and provide other services related to website usage and internet usage for us. The IP address transmitted to Google Analytics by your browser is not merged with other Google data.

You can prevent the collection of your data by Google Analytics on this website using our “Cookie Management Tool.” This will set an opt-out cookie that prevents the future collection of your data when visiting this website.

1.1.3.4. Google Ads

We use Google AdWords Conversion Tracking to monitor the success of our advertising campaigns. When specific goals on our website are achieved, such as submitting the contact form or signing up for our newsletter, Google records these conversions. This allows Google to measure the number of goals achieved. Additionally, with the help of previously set cookies, Google can track which advertisements were clicked on before and thus contributed to goal achievement. These data are processed by Google on servers in the United States but are not linked to personal data from your Google account.

1.1.3.5. LeadForensics

For marketing and optimization purposes, this website uses products and services from the company LeadForensics. LeadForensics is headquartered at 3000 Lakeside, North Harbour, Western Road, Portsmouth, PO6 3EN, UK. This software does not use cookies. LeadForensics gathers details about your organization based on its imprint, including phone number, web address, SIC code, and a company description.

LeadForensics tracks the actual history of your visit to this website, including all pages you visited, how long you spent on each page, and other interactions. If IP addresses are collected, they are immediately anonymized after collection.

On behalf of the operator of this website, LeadForensics will use the collected information to evaluate your website visit, compile reports on website activities, and provide other services related to website and internet usage to the website operator.

The use of LeadForensics is aimed at continuously optimizing our website and offerings, based on Article 6 (1) (f) of the GDPR.

As part of the collaboration between Boom Software and LeadForensics, there is an ongoing data processing agreement that governs the rights and obligations regarding GDPR compliance for both parties.
