Comprehensive maintenance management across locations

MEGA Tierernährung GmbH & Co. KG manages five production locations in Germany for premium poultry feed. MEGA Tierernährung is a leading producer in Europe with an annual production volume of over 1.2 million tons. BOOM MAINTENANCE MANAGER (BMM) Industry provides standardized maintenance management for all locations.

Central service tool for all production locations

BOOM MAINTENANCE MANAGER (BMM) has been installed as a central tool that can be used from all locations. The implementation goal was to make it possible to derive prospective preventative maintenance measures from past corrective activities (fault incidents) in order to avoid failures in good time. Weaknesses can be identified with jointly developed fault evaluations and maintained earlier and thus more efficiently. Faults that halt production are minimized and maintenance dates are adapted to production times and utilization. BMM usage thus leads to efficient production.
An automatic notification function via email has been additionally implemented in case maintenance dates have not been observed within a defined time period.

Tailored to the needs

A one-week workshop was held on-site at the beginning of the project. A system prototype was jointly developed with the project team of MEGA Tierernährung.

Compliance with regulations: Representation of ATEX inspections.

ATEX guidelines deal with usage stipulations for devices and protective systems in explosive areas. Stipulations must be observed, and inspections, prescribed by the legislator, must be performed.
For MEGA Tierernährung, BMM has been expanded with additional master data fields for ATEX inspections, and these data have been imported. The checklists to be processed have been transferred to the system and allocated to systems subject to the inspection obligation. ATEX checklists can also be expanded per system and adapted since individual adaptations have been performed on various systems. Observance of stipulations is thus ensured at all times. Required reports are available at any time and can be transferred to responsible authorities. ATEX checklists are depicted in full, and the documentation of all inspections is performed consistently.
