BOOM Grand Prix – From Coding to Karting

On your mark, get set, go! After having so much fun at the kart race last year, we dared to hit the racetrack together again this year, and once again, it got really exciting.

On July 13, 2022, at 6 p.m., we gathered at Styria Karting in Zettling to have another nail-biting race on the outdoor track called “Spielberg” and find out who could handle their kart the best. Divided into two groups based on driver experience, we first had a qualifying session before the 20-minute race began.

Group A had a very eventful race with a few minor collisions, while Group B took it a bit easier. However, we were all highly competitive, and everyone wanted to secure a spot on the podium. It was as thrilling as ever, coming down to the last hundredth of a second, and in the end, the following colleagues earned themselves a medal:

Group A:

  1. Robin
  2. Markus
  3. Christoph

Group B:

  1. Jozsef
  2. Alex
  3. Michal

Our BOOM trophy was also awarded on this day: With a lead of 23 hundredths of a second over the second-place finisher Alex, Jozsef secured the victory of the day with a lap time of just 0:30:60 and took home our trophy. Impressive! Hats off!

After the two races, we gathered comfortably at Café Kurt, where we already made plans for more team events in the future. Stay tuned! 😉
