The fest tent at the company's Oktoberfest

O’zapft is! The 2nd Boom Oktoberfest in Leibnitz & Oldenburg

On Friday, 14 October 2022, the BOOM Oktoberfest took place for the second time, starting at 2 p.m., at our premises in Leibnitz and in Oldenburg. Like last year, we held our second internal communication event this year, B.Connect, where all Boom employees from all locations (Leibnitz, Graz and Oldenburg) meet online via MS Teams to inform themselves about news in and around Boom Software.

Oktoberfest in Leibnitz

The Oktoberfest took place in Leibnitz in beautiful autumn weather in a large tent, which was set up in the car park in front of our office building and decorated with typical Oktoberfest decorations in blue and white. Of course, food and drink were also provided: the classic Weißwürstel (white sausage) and Bratwürstel (fried sausage) were served by a regional master butcher and accompanied by pretzels, rolls and sweet mustard. Beer and wine were also not to be missed at our “Boom-Wiesn”. For dessert, our colleague Bettina spoiled us with homemade carrot cake and apple strudel.

Typical Oktoberfest music framed our celebration. So we felt as if we were right there in Munich at the Wiesn. And of course thanks to the colleagues who had dressed appropriately in traditional costume.

Later in the afternoon, chestnuts were roasted, and they were accompanied by delicious young wine (Sturm).

Disco Fever
In the evening, the Oktoberfest disco and fitting music really got things going. The mood was very festive, with lots of dancing and celebrating! After the Oktoberfest ended, a few “BOOM party animals” even continued to enjoy the nightlife in Leibnitz.

Oktoberfest in Oldenburg

The 12 colleagues in Oldenburg also celebrated an Oktoberfest after the B.Connect. The table in the office kitchen was decorated to fit the theme, and there were many photo props in Wiesn style! Manuela and Nadja took care of their colleagues’ culinary needs and came up with an exciting team-building game for the afternoon, perfectly aligned with BOOM’s business area.

The team worked together to build a train, including rail infrastructure, out of Lego and clearly had a lot of fun doing so. By the end of the afternoon, the train was already running on the tracks.
