The BOOM Christmas Elves Spiced Up Christmas in 2022

We started brainstorming in the summer about what homemade gift we should create this year. From experience, we knew that food items were always well-received by all colleagues. The homemade fortune cookies (2021) and the homemade strawberry jam (2020) were both a big hit in the past.

The Versatile. The Exquisite. & The Spicy.

At the first secret meeting of the six Christmas Elves, we quickly agreed that this year’s gift should be a spice blend that our colleagues could use in their daily cooking. And since tastes vary, we decided to make three different variations: classic herb salt, salt with herbs from Provence, and a spicy barbecue salt.

For our homemade spice blends, we wanted to use only high-quality ingredients. That’s why we opted for organic herbs and spices from the Höch Meeting Centre, a branch of Lebenshilfe Leibnitz specializing in the cultivation and processing of herbs.

Finally, on November 8th, the day had come. We Christmas Elves gathered in one of our meeting rooms in the evening to mix, fill, and label the herb salts. We came up with something special for each blend, giving them unique names and designing individual labels: the Versatile, the Exquisite, and the Spicy. For a cosy evening together, of course, the Christmas setting could not be missing. So we had provided suitable music and delicious homemade punch.

The gifts were then distributed at the annual Christmas parties, which took place for Leibnitz & Graz on 7 December and for Oldenburg on 16 December. With great amazement, each employee was then allowed to choose one of the three spice salts according to his/her taste.

It’s nice that we BOOM Christmas elves were able to put a smile on our dear colleagues’ faces again with our secret mission. We have also already put our heads together again and exchanged our ideas for gifts in the coming year.
